Women Connect

Tuesday, September 25
3:30 to 5 p.m. | Social 5 to 6 p.m.
DoubleTree by Hilton & West Fargo Conference Center

Systems and organizations are becoming much more complex to lead because every organization is part of a larger, complex system. Leaders no longer have the luxury of planned change, certain futures or predictable elements of competition. In our constantly-changing, technology-driven work environment, our traditional views on leadership are being challenged. Even though we respond faster, produce more and are more efficient, the needle on organizational performance doesn’t move. Too often, we fall into a trap of rushing to demonstrate we are doing something (checking a box), and in that rush, we are missing the real opportunities for success.

Leadership occurs at all levels of the organization. You can make a difference in the culture of your area, department or company through talent management, purpose and authenticity. This session will describe strategies used by high-performing leaders, illustrate the impact those strategies have on organizational culture, and show how you can move the needle.

Carrie Brimhall, president of Minnesota State Community and Technical College is presenting at Women Connect

This session gives women the permission (and the evidence) to support the talents and values they bring to the workplace as effective strategies to move the needle, and illustrate how they can support people and clear their calendars of many “box-checking” obligations. This isn’t a theoretical leadership discussion – the session will provide concrete examples of ways women can enjoy leading.
