Bring the kids out as Sanford Children’s presents Midwest Kid Fest at Island Park on June 15 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.! This family-friendly event offers a whole day packed with free games and activities.
The day kicks off with the Teddy Bear Parade at 10:30 a.m. in front of the Island Park Pool. Due to construction, this year’s parade route will follow the paths through the park. More than 700 kids and adults walk the half-mile course around Island Park with their favorite teddy bear. Bring a canned food item to benefit the Great Plains Food Bank.
After the parade, Island Park will be filled with music, laughter and bright colors as children play and learn at Midwest Kid Fest. Bring the whole family to enjoy more than 40 interactive educational booths, inflatables and life size games. All activities are free!
Main Stage entertainment presented by Cass Clay will include Penny & Pals, Moorhead Summer Theatre, Magician Jeff Salveson, Fargo On The Move, West Fargo’s Summer Arts Intensive, Gooseberry Park Players, Fargo Moorhead Youth Choir, Red River Zoo and Fargo Moorhead Community Theater.
Bring a picnic lunch or purchase festival food on-site, including Papa Murphy’s pizza, Italian ice, sub sandwiches, hot dogs, edible cookie dough and iced coffee.
Free transportation is provided by MAT Bus for kids going to the festival. MAT Bus transportation information can be found at FargoParks.com. Free parking is available at the Island Park Pool lot, Island Park Ramp after 2 p.m. and in the neighborhood.
