A magical evening with hundreds of participants that feature spectacularly lit parade floats, marching units, and equestrian entries in Downtown Fargo.
The Annual kick-off to the Holidays is the Holiday Lights Parade presented by the Downtown Community Partnership and sponsored by Xcel Energy. This parade attracts thousands of spectators throughout the Fargo-Moorhead community and includes hundreds of participants that decorate their entries with lights.
Taking place in Downtown Fargo-Moorhead on Tuesday, November 21 at 6:30 p.m. The parade route begins in Moorhead at the corner of Eighth Streetand Center Avenue, continues on Northern Pacific in Fargo, turning North on Broadway and ending at Sixth Street Avenue North.
This year, parade participants are encouraged to decorate their floats utilizing the theme of “Wrapped Up in the Holidays”. All floats will be judged during the parade and are eligible to win hundreds of dollars in prizes.

development and renewal makes him the perfect choice for this year’s parade. Downtown Fargo wouldn’t be where it’s
at today without Governor Burgum’s vision and drive.
Parade attendees are encouraged to utilize the Fun, Fast, and Free Link FM the night of the parade. Parking will be available at the Moorhead Center Mall and Link FM will shuttle attendees Downtown before the parade. Link FM will
continue to run after the Parade till 9:00pm. An additional Bus will be added to the circulatory route to reduce congestion as well as decrease wait times. There will be no parking on Broadway between NP Avenue and Sixth Street in Fargo starting at 4 p.m. Broadway in Fargo
will be shut down to traffic starting at 5:00 p.m. Center Avenue between 11th Street and 8th Street in Moorhead will
close at 5 p.m. and NP Avenue between Broadway and the Red River in Fargo will close at 6 p.m. All roads are expected
to reopen by 8 p.m. Main Avenue, Seventh Avenue North, University Drive and 10th Street will remain open.
