Fercho Branch YMCA (All Ages)
The YMCA of Cass and Clay Counties and SoleMOTION Race Management are excited to announce the Fifth Annual Fargo-Moorhead Thanksgiving Day “Burn the Bird”
5K & 10K event coming to the Fercho YMCA on Thanksgiving morning, November 23, 2017.
Get some fresh air and a good burn going with either the 5K run/walk or the 10K run before you sit down for your Thanksgiving Day dinner. The races start at 8:30 AM on 1st Ave South, just north of the YMCA. The 5k will wind its way through the beautiful Hawthorne neighborhood on its way to the walking/bike path that runs along the Red River and finish
back at the Fercho YMCA. The 10K, in addition, will continue to follow the walking/bike path
into Lindenwood Park.
“Burn the Bird” is proud to support the Great Plains Food Bank and LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA, a free health and wellness program offered to cancer survivors. Additionally, there will be a food drive along with the race, and all runners are encouraged to contribute Thanksgiving morning. Food donations will go to YMCA families in need and the Great Plains
Food Bank. The YMCA of Cass and Clay Counties members, staff and child care are also
participating in the food drive.
The YMCA of Cass and Clay Counties is a not-for-profit community service organization that serves over 50,000 people in the community at over 30 locations throughout Cass and Clay counties. They offer scholarships and financial aid to children and participants in before and after school programs, child care, youth and adult programs, and membership.
