Have you ever faced a life-altering event, only to return to work struggling to handle the difficulties of becoming re-engaged in the aftermath? Whether a significant death in your family, divorce, financial devastation, a spouse diagnosed with an illness or something else, the fact is that life-altering events can cause attention and productivity to go significantly off-track, which provides challenges for both the employee and employer.
It’s one component discussed in “Option B” – that Sheryl Sandberg struggled at work after her husband died. Presenters at this session will share their own challenges reengaging after hardships and how they got their grooves back.
This isn’t a grief counseling session or oversharing of sob stories, but rather a discussion of the difficulty of reengaging yourself in work after loss or a major life distraction. Our presenters will share comments and strategies to cut yourself some slack and provide strategies you can implement to regain and retain focus. Employers will also learn how to be aware of productivity issues after an employee suffers a setback, and employ compassion while developing a plan to get them back on track and re-engaged.
March Charity of the Month: Lakes & Prairies Community Action Partnership
Lakes & Prairies CAP works to eliminate poverty, empower families and engage communities by providing a hand up, not a hand out to those in need in our community.
Please consider bringing wash cloths, dish towels or kitchen utensils to donate to them this month.
