Mentoring: Why it Matters

Mentoring: Why it Matters

Business Training

Tuesday, May 8 | 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Courtyard by Marriott, 1080 28th Avenue South, Moorhead

Mentoring is often viewed as a nice to do but not necessary to the way we develop and manage our people. Research shows a growing percentage of the workforce is looking for a coach more than a supervisor, and is more interested in development than the perks that use to entice people to our workplaces.

Now more than ever, mentorship is becoming a vital way to attract, develop and retain talent. Learn the role of mentoring in the workplace, what makes for quality relationships and the implications of doing it poorly. Uncover the art and science of blending supervision and mentorship to get the results you want. Discover the different models of mentoring and figure out what could work best for you and your company.

What will you learn?

  • Learn the history and staging of mentoring relationships, and gain awareness of the benefits and styles of mentoring.
  • Understand the impacts of professional mentoring, what leads to quality results and common stumbling blocks.
