Chamber, WDAY to Host ND Republican Gubernatorial Primary Debate

Moorhead, Minn. (April 27, 2016) – The Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber, together with WDAY, is excited to host a North Dakota Republican primary gubernatorial debate between front-runner candidates Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem and Fargo businessman Doug Burgum.

The debate will be held on Wednesday, June 1, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Avalon Events Center in Fargo.

The debate will be broadcast live statewide on the WDAY’Z Xtra channel, live streamed on the WDAY website, as well as broadcast live on WDAY radio. Tickets will be evenly divided and distributed between the two campaigns.

“The 2016 race for governor is extremely important as the state continues to grow, prosper and face new challenges,” Chamber President & CEO Craig Whitney said. “Hosting this event fits in perfectly with The Chamber’s focus on public policy issues. We’re excited to offer this to our members, the community and the state.”

North Dakota’s 2016 primary election will be held on June 14, and The Chamber will be encouraging members to get involved in the process and cast their vote. Additionally, the city of Fargo has a highly contested race for two city commission seats.

After the primary, The Chamber will be looking at ways to continue engaging members and the community in regard to the November general election.
