In 1938, Louie and Mary Ellen Veigel began a business in the basement of Stark County Courthouse. The business flourished and has been thriving for nearly 75 years. The two offered surveying and engineering services in North and South Dakota, establishing what would become KLJ. The company has grown over the last 75 years, city by city, state by state. Today, KLJ even does work on an international level.
KLJ was built on quality service and reliable relationships and over the last seven decades, has grown to nearly 700 employees and opened 15 offices across five states. KLJ continues to offer services with the quality and accuracy clients expect across the United States and the world.
The upcoming year marks 75 years of dedicated quality service for KLJ. Therefore, in 2012, the company began a process of rethinking how they present themselves to the world. “We embarked on an ambitious journey and began to imagine and define KLJ’s next 75 years, said Chief Executive Officer Niles Hushka. “We want to communicate to our customers our strength, dynamic culture and promise to deliver professional and personal service for years to come,” said Hushka.
KLJ’s journey led to the creation of a new logo and website. “The new logo and website gives KLJ the modern and innovative image reflective of the professional services we have delivered for 75 years,” said Hushka.
KLJ’s new logo is designed with unique chevron elements utilizing the letters K L J and incorporates colors representing KLJ’s strong, energetic and reliable reputation.
KLJ has also updated their website. The website is designed for easy navigation and implements ample use of the new imagery. “The imagery reflects our heritage and emphasizes our forward-thinking mindset and objective to achieve strong growth, drive innovation and focus on sustainability,” said Hushka.
