Fargo Moorhead, ND/MN (January 16, 2012) – The Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber of Commerce has been named the Outstanding Chamber of the Year by the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce Executives (MCCE).
The Outstanding Chamber of the Year Award recognizes organization excellence in local Minnesota local chambers of commerce and provides a unique benchmarking opportunity to assess a chamber’s strengths. The award is based on the U.S. Chamber of Commerce accreditation process for local chambers and highlights accomplishments in the areas of leadership/governance, finance, advocacy and membership development.
“This is the first year of the award, which recognizes The Chamber’s leadership in our regional community, as well as its dedication to advocacy, innovation and commerce,” said Chamber President/CEO Craig Whitney. “This award is a direct reflection of our valuable members, our dedicated Board and our talented staff.”
Judges commended The Chamber on its work in Minnesota, including advocating for the re-opening of the Highway 52 East Main Avenue/I-94 interchange ramps in Moorhead, and for the continuation of Local Government Aid programs in the state.
With more than 2,000 members, the Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber is the largest local chamber in North Dakota and Minnesota.
The award will be presented at the MCCE Annual Meeting on February 23, 2012, in Owatonna, Minnesota.
