Chamber Names Ambassador of the Year
Fargo Moorhead, ND/MN (August 31, 2011) – The Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber has named Connie Peterson the 2011 Ambassador of the Year. Peterson received the award at The Chamber’s August 24 Ambassador meeting.
Each year, the Ambassador Planning committee chooses one outstanding Ambassador to receive the Ambassador of the Year designation. The distinction is based on attendance, professionalism and both committee and Chamber involvement.
“Connie Peterson represents the ideal Ambassador as she contributes to our organization in so many ways,” said Ambassador Chair Karen Witzel of Spherion Staffing. “Whether it’s facilitating ribbon cuttings, engaging prospective members or attending other Chamber functions, she’s a great representation for the Chamber her employer, MN Public Radio. She truly is deserving of this recognition.”
Peterson is an account executive and site coordinator for Minnesota Public Radio. This is Peterson’s eighth year as a Chamber Ambassador. During the 2010-11 year, she attended 101 out of 121 ribbon cuttings.
“Any ribbon cutting or ground breaking that Connie takes the lead on is handled with maximum professionalism,” said Mary Mertens, Membership Relations Coordinator for The Chamber. “The hours that Peterson has put in to support The Chamber is unbelievable and she truly deserves this award for the dedication she has portrayed over the past year.”
The Ambassadors serve as the public relations arm of The Chamber. The committee is comprised of more than 80 volunteers from the business community who conduct approximately 150 ribbon cuttings per year.
The Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber of Commerce is a bi-state, regional federation of over 2,000 private, public and non-profit member firms representing more than 80,000 people. The largest local chamber in North Dakota and Minnesota, The Chamber advocates for a strong metropolitan community and supports the interests of its members, which are located in Cass and Clay Counties and beyond.
