Fargo Moorhead, ND/MN
(August 1, 2011) – Twenty-one high school students set off on a service tour of North Dakota today. The tour kicks off the Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber’s 2011 Youth Leadership program.

Youth Leadership is designed to acquaint high school sophomores, juniors and seniors with the Fargo Moorhead West Fargo community, develop and enhance leadership skills, provide opportunities to network with business and community leaders and encourage young people to remain in the region.

“The quality of our emerging leaders will determine the future of our community,” said Chamber President/CEO Craig Whitney. “The Youth Leadership program is key to growing our region’s future leaders and teaching them best business practices early on.”

During the five day service tour, students will travel throughout North Dakota, stopping in Devils Lake, Bismarck, Dickinson and Medora to complete community service projects. The tour will focus on service, education and reflection and will challenge the students to continue being servant leaders in their home community.

The tour is possible through a collaboration with Students Today Leaders Forever (STLF), an organization of students who engage in servant leadership to create positive life experiences. Updates from the service tour will be available at FMWFChamber.com/blog. The Chamber’s Youth Leadership program is sponsored by Starion Financial and Bremer Bank, N.A.
