Hoeven to Keynote Chamber Energy Summit
Fargo Moorhead, ND/MN (July 22, 2011) – United States Senator John Hoeven will keynote The State of Energy Summit: The Next Generation of Jobs in North Dakota, held August 17 at the Ramada Plaza & Suites and Conference Center. Hosted by the Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber, the all day event is the first of an annual summit series designed to explore the next generation of jobs in North Dakota in a variety of industries.
The State of Energy Summit will bring together energy leaders to discuss the expansion of energy production. Hoeven will keynote the summit’s luncheon and discuss the global implications and economic benefits of job creation through North Dakota’s expanding energy sector.
“We have oil, coal, natural gas, biofuels, biomass, hydrogen, solar power, wind power and hypdropower at our disposal,” says Chamber President/CEO Craig Whitney. “North Dakota is on the cusp of being not just a domestic source of energy, but a global producer. The potential is there, but it’s going to take our best and brightest working together to fill the next generation of jobs in North Dakota. And that’s what this summit hopes to achieve.”
The summit will include panel discussions, keynote speakers and an Innovation Expo and Job Fair. Clarence Cazalot, President and CEO of Marathon Oil will deliver the breakfast keynote address. Other speakers include Ron Ness, President of the North Dakota Petroleum Council; Tom Lilja, Executive Director of the North Dakota Corn Growers; and Sandi Tabor, Vice President of Government Affairs for the North Dakota Lignite Council.
The Summit will be held from 7:30 to 5 p.m. on August 17, with the expo and job fair taking place from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Cost to attend is $70 per person before August 1 and $90 after. Attendance to the Innovation Expo & Job Fair is $20. More information can be found at www.thestateofenergy.com.
