The Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber of Commerce has named Karen Prost the 2009-10 Member Relations Ambassador of the Year. Prost received the award at the Chamber’s October 13 Member Relations Ambassador meeting.
Each year, the Member Relations Ambassador Planning committee chooses one outstanding Member Relations Ambassador to receive the Ambassador of the Year designation. The distinction is based on attendance, professionalism and both committee and Chamber involvement.
“Karen is a hard-working self-starter who invariably understands the goals of the committee from the outset and knows how to get the job done quickly and effectively,” says Bobbi Jo Rehder, the Chamber’s Membership Services and Retention Coordinator. “She is resourceful, creative and a solution oriented person who works well as a team leader and a team member.”
Prost works in business development and sales for Granites Unlimited. She has served as a member of the Member Relations Ambassador committee since 2006. During that time, she has served two years as team captain, attended 24 planning meetings and 24 monthly committee meetings.
The Member Relations Ambassadors serve as the member retention arm of the Chamber, assisting with recruitment and retention of member firms, special events designed to promote member involvement and helping retain members through personal contact, information, encouragement and support.
