FARGO MOORHEAD, ND/MN (September 22, 2010) – The Fargo Moorhead Chamber of Commerce has named Larry Olson the 2010 Ambassador of the Year. Olson received the award at the Chamber’s September 15 Ambassador meeting by a unanimous vote.
Each year, the Ambassador Planning committee chooses one outstanding Ambassador to receive the Ambassador of the Year designation. The distinction is based on attendance, professionalism and both committee and Chamber involvement.
“The Ambassador of the Year personifies what being an Ambassador is all about all year” said Claudia Greenley, 2009-10 Ambassador chair. “Larry Olson brings in new members, facilitates ribbon cuttings, distributes Operation Thank You packets and attends many other Chamber functions. Larry deserves this award and recognition as he is truly the perfect Ambassador.”
Olson is the president of Talent Productions and has been producing events, managing artists and entertaining audiences for over 30 years. This is Olson’s sixth year as a Chamber Ambassador. During the 2009-10 year, he attended 104 out of 120 ribbon cuttings.
“Any ribbon cutting or ground breaking that Larry Olson takes the lead on is handled with maximum professionalism. Olson goes out of his way to make the members feel special,” said Bobbi Jo Rehder, the Chamber’s Membership Services and Retention Coordinator.
The Ambassadors serve as the public relations arm of the Fargo Moorhead Chamber. The committee is comprised of more than 60 volunteers from the business community who conduct approximately 150 ribbon cuttings per year.
