Joel Jorgenson
2010 ChamberChoice Entrepreneur of the Year

Joel Jorgenson is CEO and President of Packet Digital LLC, an emerging world leader in power management. After nearly 10 years of taking graduate classes while working full time at Rockwell College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Jorgenson graduated with a doctorate in electrical engineering and joined the faculty at North Dakota State University where he became part of the Department of Defense research programs and led graduate students in cutting-edge electronics development.  Collectively, they outperformed everyone while in Fargo and decided that if they started a company, their success would likely continue.  With somewhat humble beginnings, Packet Digital was formed in 2003.  Their plan was simple: succeed on their contracts, win additional contracts and, in their spare time, create world-class intellectual property in advanced power management.  In summary, outperform the industry leading companies from California, Texas, Iowa and around the world.  Today, Packet Digital team holds six patents, with dozens of patents pending.  Their first integrated circuit has been tested by Intel and is in consideration of world-wide adoption in notebook computer designs.
